Scarritt Bennett and Clementine – Nashville, TN
September 22, 2019
Surrounded by the architectural beauty of Scarritt Bennett, Mignon and Jaxon exchanged vows and became one. The newlywed musicians partied the night away at The Clementine, including a conga line, a vinyl record “guest book”, and the cutest red party dress! Mignon looked like a vision walking down the aisle in one of our all-time favorite gowns, “Lane” from Blue by Enzoani. The silky mikado and gorgeous lace accents gave Mignon the “classic-modern” bridal look but with an unexpected deep V neckline. We can’t wait to see what’s next for the happy couple!
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
My favorite part about planning my wedding was seeing everything come together in the end. With so many different working pieces, parts, and vendors, I was so nervous about how everything would all feel and look together. I had to make myself finally ”let go” during the wedding weekend and leave it all up to my amazing coordinator (Silver Celebrations) and awesome vendors – and THEY DID IT. All of the hard work and time spent was so worth it. It was truly our dream wedding in every way!
What did you love most about your wedding dress? What surprised you about your choice or the shopping process?
I loved every part of my wedding dress! I described it as classic yet modern, simple yet dramatic. When I was shopping, the only thing that I knew I wanted was a long train. I never actually thought I would ever choose a mermaid or trumpet gown, but when I tried it on, I loved the shape & silhouette it gave my body! The deep V made it feel sexy and modern and the lace appliques reminded me of my grandmother’s dress (which was also my mother’s dress). When shopping for my wedding dress, I didn’t realize how indecisive I would be on the style. I thought I had an idea of the shape I wanted, but that changed so many times. I ended up going with a trumpet style gown, which I never thought I’d pick!
We love how you styled your gorgeous dress with incredible jewelry! Where did you find all of your pieces?
My jewelry was all family heirlooms! My pearl earrings were my great grandmother’s, my necklace was my grandmother’s (she gave it to me the weekend of the wedding as a gift), and my mom let me wear her tennis bracelets! The pearl necklace worn in my bridal shoot was also from my family – I decided to switch to the teardrop pendant for the wedding day when my grandmother gave it to me.
My advice for newly engaged bride-to-be’s is: take your time planning and don’t jump into picking a date. Let the “first time fiance” feeling soak in for a bit before you start planning. It’s so easy to get caught up in a ton of stress while planning, especially when you value the opinions of family and friends. In the end, it’s most important that you have the best day of your life and your guests have a great time.
How did you and Jaxon make your wedding unique? The entire evening looked magical!
My husband Jaxon and I wanted our wedding to be all about fun and entertainment. We put our focus towards the music being performed and played as well as the personal touches and details that our guests would have fun with. Since we are both musicians and have so many friends in music, we had our welcome party two nights before our wedding at The Basement in Nashville. I played a set with my band (Jaxon plays guitar for me) and had our friends perform after us. It was such a fun way to kick off the wedding weekend. Then, in our ceremony, we had our close friends and my brother sing – How Great Thou Art and The Prayer. For our reception, we hired The Downtown Band to play and THEY MADE THE NIGHT. Best decision ever! The dance floor was filled the entire night – which was all I ever dreamed of for my wedding. Jaxon ordered custom guitar picks for each of our guests to take home and we decorated mini tambourines for our exit!
What’s next for you and your husband?
Jaxon and I are now going on 4 months of marriage and are hoping to travel as much as we can over the next few years! We love discovering new places, trying new things, and having fun with our friends and family. We will hopefully add a puppy into the mix later on this year! We’re just excited to experience life together as husband and wife.
